The traditional \u201cMustache Shaving\u201d event was held at the Carob Mill (Lanitis) in Limassol, gathering a large crowd for an evening dedicated to giving and solidarity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was broadcast live by Channel 6 and combined Cypriot tradition with charity. In a festive atmosphere featuring violins, lutes, tsiattista and traditional dances, the Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Yiannis Armeftis, shaved off his mustache in support of the \u201cChildren\u2019s Day of Love Fund\u201d Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event featured Michalis Tterlikkas and his music group \u201cMousa\u201d, Nicoletta Demetriou, Makis Chrysostomou on violin, Tassos Chrysostomou on tamboutsia, Kyriakos Georgiades on lute, and the Limassol Folklore Research Group \u201cOi Amathousioi\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u2018Mustache Shaving\u2019 is a well-established event of the Foundation that takes place every year in December. Prominent individuals shave their moustaches in a traditional musical event with Cypriot tsiattista and other folk songs. The event is open to the public and attendees can pin money to the apron of the person being shaved or make a donation in other ways and thus support the charitable work of the Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
